Activities and Achievements

During their time in the Drey, Squirrel Scouts will get a chance to try a wide range of different activities as well as going on trips, days out, and on sleepovers. There are a range of badges and awards that Squirrel Scouts can gain to recognise their achievements.

The Squirrel Scout Promise, Law, and Motto

There are a number of variations of the Squirrel Scout Promise to reflect the range of faiths, beliefs, attitudes, and nationalities, in the UK within Scouting. It is a way to introduce the Scouting values in all sections.

The Squirrel Scout Law: There is no formal Squirrel Scout Law. The concepts expressed in the Scout Law are to be presented to Squirrel Scouts through games, storytelling, and other informal activities.

The Squirrel Scout Motto: Be prepared

Squirrel Scout Uniform and Flag

Squirrel Scouts wear a red sweatshirt with a Group scarf (often called a Necker) and a coloured woggle which identifies their nest (Ground(red), Tree(green), Flying(blue)). The Royal Blue Necker is provided by the 10th Warrington Squirrel Scout Drey.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
