10th Warrington Cub Pack
Our Cub Pack welcomes boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 10½ years.
We meet on Mondays during term-time between 6:30 pm and 8:00 pm. The pack is led by our Cub Scout Leaders, Steph, Claire, Paul, Neil and Django
We welcome all parent helpers and other volunteers, both for Monday sessions and to support our weekend activities.
Awards
There are a range of badges and awards available to young people in the Cub Scout section. Many of the badges available are activity badges, which allow Cub Scouts to show their progress in existing pursuits, but also to try all kinds of new things and form new interests. Some activity badges are sponsored by outside companies, and these companies often provide extra exciting resource packs to help Cub Scouts towards gaining their badges.
Gaining a challenge badge involves accomplishing a number of more ambitious tasks within the Pack or community. There are several challenge badges across a number of themes, from the physical and outdoors to challenges dealing with the local community or issues connected with the Scouting world.
In addition, there are a number of core badges, obtained upon joining or moving on from the Pack, or for time spent in the Scouting movement.
We also have an annual awards evening to recognise achievement with our own awards as well as those mentioned above.
Programme
Our programme aims to promote the growth and development of children and young people. Our philosophy is that every Cub Scout should participate in a balanced programme over a period of time. Providing your Cub Scouts with a programme that is both balanced and exciting is one of the most rewarding challenges for our leaders.
What we offer to young people in the Cub Scout section is a range of activities, events and experiences built around six programme zones. Young people experience Scouting by regularly taking part in quality activities, drawn from each programme zone. Personal achievement can be recognised by earning awards and badges leading to the Chief Scout’s Silver Award.
